Thailand recently launched its e-Visa on arrival application which will significantly cut down processing times. The application is run by the Thai Immigration in collaboration with SAMART Group.
The e-Visa on arrival facility is available at the Suvarnabhumi, Phuket, Don Mueang, and Chiang Mai airports. The facility will soon also be available at Krabi airport.
This application is currently available to the following countries:
Thailand also plans on extending the e-Visa on arrival application facility to Great Britain and France too. As per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand will also start accepting visa applications online from next year. This is in addition to the e-Visa on arrival facility.
The e-Visa service would be available in Beijing on 15th Feb. In other Chinese cities, it will be available from 1st March.
Britain and France would be able to avail the e-Visa on arrival facility from 1st April.
Thailand plans to roll out this facility to all its embassies and consulates in the coming 3 years. This service will allow travellers to Thailand to apply for a 60-day Tourist Visa online. Payments will be accepted through Card, Internet banking, and QR Code. The payment support would be provided by the K-Bank of Thailand.
