This holiday season, you have one more incentive to travel to Thailand. Thailand has just waived off its visa on arrival fee for 21 countries, including India. You can, hence, travel Visa-free to Thailand this December.
The move is aimed at increasing the inflow of tourists to the country and boost tourism. The Thailand cabinet recently approved the visa fee waiver between 1st December and 31st January.
The island country had apparently seen a decline in tourism, especially from China. With the fee waiver, travelers from 21 countries will not need to pay the visa on arrival fee. The visa fee was 2000 Baht (Rs. 4,385).

The validity of the visa, however, will be of only 15 days.
The Thailand Govt. expects the waiver to boost tourism in the country by at least 30%.
40 Chinese tourists met with a boat accident near Phuket in July this year. The incident was responsible for the slump in the tourism experienced by the country.
Also, Thailand has been struggling with ecological imbalance as a result of over-tourism. It seems that the country which was one reeling under the burden of tourists is now trying to charm them back.
