As per the details released by Alberta, the latest draw to be held by the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program [AINP] on May 27 issued 148 invitations to Canada immigration candidates that might be eligible for being provincially nominated under the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
Candidates that received invitations in the latest AINP draw were required to have a Comprehensive Ranking System [CRS] score of 300. This is the second AINP draw in May 2020 to invite candidates with a CRS requirement of 300.
The previous AINP draw was held on May 13, 2020.
As of now, only candidates that are already in Alberta are being considered.
With the latest draw on May 27, Alberta has issued a total of 1,746 invitations to candidates with profiles in the federal Express Entry System.
In 2019, the number of invitations issued through the Alberta Express Entry Stream were 6,884.
As yet, Alberta has not received its provincial nomination allocation for 2020.
Candidates invited through the Alberta Express Entry Stream must first create their profile in the federal Express Entry System that manages applications for 3 federal immigration programs – the Canadian Experience Class [CEC], the Federal Skilled Worker Program [FSWP], and Federal Skilled Trades Program [FSTP].
CRS scores – based on human capital factors like education, age, work experience, proficiency in English or French language – are allotted and used for ranking the profiles in the pool against one another.
It is the highest-ranked profiles that are issued Invitations to Apply [ITAs] in the regular Express Entry draws that are held.
Receiving a PNP nomination fetches another 600 additional points that are included in the overall CRS score of the candidate, thereby guaranteeing that an ITA would be issued in the subsequent draw to be held.
Express Entry candidates have an opportunity of being invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Alberta or any of the other provinces with Express Entry-aligned PNPs.
To be issued an invitation under the Alberta Express Entry Stream, the candidate is required to have work experience in an eligible occupation supporting the province’s priorities in terms of diversification and economic development.
With COVID-19 special measures in place, the AINP as of now requires a candidate to meet the following criteria to be issued an invitation –

Applications of those with no recent employment history in the province will not be processed until further notice.
