Saskatchewan offers PR Visa ITAs in the new EOI draw

Saskatchewan province in Canada has offered fresh PR Visa ITAs in the new draw held on 27 February. 83 candidates in the Express Entry pool were invited to apply for a Canada PR Visa through provincial nomination.

The candidates who were invited had a registered EOI - Expression of Interest. This was in the International Skilled Worker sub-stream of Saskatchewan aligned with Express Entry. It permits the province to select candidates in the Express Entry pool. This is to apply for a Canada PR Visa through nomination from the province.

The federal Express Entry system administers the pool of candidates for the 3 major economic immigration streams of Canada. These are:

• Skilled Worker Class Federal
• Skilled Trades Class Federal
• Canada Experience Class

Candidates in the Express Entry pool who receive a nomination form a province get 600 extra points. This is towards their CRS score in the Express Entry ranking. They are thus fast-tracked effectively for an ITA for Canada PR Visa, as quoted by the CIC News.

Express Entry candidates have to separately register an EOI with the SINP - Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. This is for being considered for a nomination from Saskatchewan province.

The profile for EOI requires diverse details. These include French or English proficiency, work experience, and education.  Other factors include connections to the province. This could be past study or work experience or close family members in the province.

The other eligibility criteria include having work experience in a highly skilled occupation. This is in the occupation present on the In-Demand Occupations List of Saskatchewan. Profiles are offered scores based on these diverse factors. Those who score 60 or more points are entered into the candidates’ pool.

A fixed number of candidates with the highest rank are offered Pr Visa ITAs through frequent draws. The score of the lowest ranked candidate who received the ITA on 27 February draw was 68.
