Saskatchewan in Canada has expanded its list of in-demand occupations. The new eligible list of occupations will apply to both the In-demand category as well as the Express Entry category.
The In-demand occupation list of Saskatchewan earlier had just 19 occupations. Now the list has been expanded to include more than 200 occupations.
Both the In-demand and Express Entry sub-categories do not require a job offer from Saskatchewan to qualify.
A candidate should have a valid profile in the Express Entry Pool to qualify for the Saskatchewan Express Entry stream. Candidates who acquire a provincial nomination get 600 extra points on their CRS score.
Candidates not in the Express Entry Pool may qualify under the Occupations In-demand category. Nominated candidates can apply for a Canadian PR outside of the Express Entry system.
Both the above categories require a candidate to have work experience in any one occupation on the In-demand list. All these occupations are in the NOC 0, A or B category, as per CIC News.
However, rather than listing the eligible occupations, Saskatchewan has now issued a list of ineligible occupations. There are 129 occupations which have been excluded. This means that there are over 200 occupations which now make it to the In-demand occupation list of Saskatchewan.
To apply for a provincial nomination through Saskatchewan, you must lodge an Expression of Interest with the SINP. This stands true for both the Express Entry as well as the Occupation In-demand sub-categories.
