A new UK Startup Visa pathway for overseas immigrants who intend to launch a business in the UK has been announced by Sajid Javid the UK Home Secretary. He made this announcement at the London Tech Week. It will enhance the pool of immigrant entrepreneurs in the UK.
The new UK Startup Visa pathway will also smoothen and quicken the visa process for overseas entrepreneurs arriving in the UK. This will replace the visa route that was exclusively for graduates. Thus it will widen up for welcoming a larger pool of business entrepreneurs, as quoted by the Gov UK.
The applicants of the new UK Startup Visa pathway will have to fulfill certain requirements. This includes an endorsement from an approved business sponsor including accelerators or university.
Entrepreneurs play a vital role in the creation of jobs and propelling the economic growth of the UK. The changes revealed today will make sure that the UK continues as a leading global destination for overseas talents.
The visa pathway has been formulated based on the suggestions from the Migration Advisory Committee. It also includes inputs from the tech sector and other stakeholders.
Sajid Javid said that the UK can take pride in the fact that it is a top nation for innovation and technology. But our aim is to put forth more efforts to attract businesses to the nation. The immigration system of the UK will play a crucial role in this, he added.
Keeping this in mind, we are pleased to announce the new UK Startup Visa pathway for overseas immigrants who intend to launch a business in the UK. It will ensure that the UK keeps attracting overseas global talents and entrepreneurs, added Javid.
