Quebec in Canada invited 162 candidates in the last two draws conducted on 23rd and 29th October. The details of the draws were revealed on 22nd November.

The 23rd October draw invited 89 candidates to apply for a Canadian Permanent Residence. The candidates were invited based on the labour market needs of Quebec.

Candidates invited in the 23rd October draw were among the 16,000 whose previous application under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program were cancelled due to revision of the Quebec Immigration Act. The revised Act came into effect on 16th June 2019. Candidates invited in this draw had registered an EOI in Arrima which is Quebec’s online registration portal.

The 29th October draw invited 73 candidates to apply for Canadian RR. Candidates invited in this draw had to have a valid job offer from Quebec.

Quebec, so far, has invited 1,757 QSWP candidates registered on the Arrima portal since 4th July.

What is Arrima?

The Arrima portal manages the applications of candidates under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program. The online registration portal was launched in 2018 after Quebec switched from the first-come-first-served paper-based system to an online EOI process.

To apply under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program, candidates have to first create an online profile in Arrima. Eligible profiles are then placed in the pool of candidates.

Based on labour market needs or the score of the candidate, the Quebec Govt. issues invitations to apply for a CSQ.

Candidates who obtain a CSQ can then apply for the Permanent Residency of Canada. They have to, however, clear the character and medical tests.
