The PEI PNP Business Impact category is targeted at foreign nationals interested in owning and operating a business in PEI.

PEI PNP selects candidates through a points-based Expression of Interest [EOI] system that assesses potential candidates before issuing invitations to apply.

The highest-ranked, as per the EOI score, are invited in the PEI PNP draws that are generally held on a monthly basis.

Candidates with the greatest potential of economically establishing themselves in the province are prioritized by the PEI PNP. As per PEI PNP, “Priority will be given to applicants living and working in PEI”.

The data by Statistics Canada reveals that the population of Prince Edward Island was estimated to be 159,819 [as on January 1, 2021], representing a yearly increase of 1,190 individuals or a 0.8% annual growth rate.

This is the 3rd highest year-over-year growth rate among the Canadian provinces and territories, behind Nunavut [at 1.8%], Yukon [at 1.1%], and equivalent to that of Alberta [at 0.8%]. Canada, as a whole, registered a growth rate of 0.4%.

The smallest island in Canada, Prince Edward Island is also a part of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot [AIP]. 4 Canadian provinces – Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI – together make up Atlantic Canada between themselves.
