PEI PNP draw schedule for 2021

PEI PNP draw

The first provincial draw by Canada’s Prince Edward Island [PEI] is expected to be held on January 21, 2021.

Recently, PEI has come out with its anticipated schedule for Invitations to Apply [ITAs] to be sent out by the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program [PEI PNP] in 2021.

Each month, the Office of Immigration reviews the Expression of Interest system and sends out invitations to individuals for applying to the PEI PNP.

A foreign national interested in applying for Canadian permanent residence via the PEI PNP – through either the Express Entry, Labour Impact, or Business Impact Category – will be required to first create an account as well as profile through the online Expression of Interest system of the PEI PNP.

Basic 3–step process

STEP 1: Creation of an account and submission of profile to the EOI system.

STEP 2: Highest-scoring candidates will be invited to submit an application to the PEI PNP.

STEP 3: Following a review of the paper-based application submitted, PEI PNP will then nominate successful candidates to apply to the federal government of Canada for their permanent residence.

Generally, PEI PNP draws are held once in a month.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, monthly provincial draws by PEI were interrupted from March to August in 2020. Consequently, more sporadic draws were held by the PEI PNP in 2020 as a response to the situation.

In 2020, the PEI PNP issued a total of 1,955 invitations to apply in the 18 draws held altogether. In 2019, the total number of PNP invitations by the province was 1,629.

The maximum number of invitations issued by the PEI PNP in any draw in 2020 was 313 in the draw held on September 17, 2020.
