PEI Canada sets a new high for PR Visa ITAs in the fresh draw

PEI Canada – Prince Edward Island has set a new high for PR Visa ITAs in the latest draw. It offered 270 Invitations to Apply – ITAs for PR Visa via Provincial Nomination. This was for candidates in the Labour Impact Expression of Interest and Express Entry pools. The draw was held on October 18, as quoted by the CIC News. This is the largest EOI draw so far by PEI in 2018.

PEI PNP - Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program did not reveal the numbers of ITAs offered in each category. 27 ITAs were also offered by PEI PNP to immigrant entrepreneurs. This was through the Work Permit Stream and for scores as low as 135.

Express Entry category of PEI Canada is aligned with the national Express Entry system. It manages the applications for immigration to Canada through 3 main economic immigration programs. These are the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Federal Skilled Worker Class.

For being considered for PEI immigration Express Entry candidates must normally first complete an online profile in EOI - Expression of Interest. They must then submit it to the Office of Immigration of PEI.

The EOIs are assessed and allocated points based on 6 factors of selection:

• Age
• Language
• Education
• Work experience
• Employment
• Adaptability

A maximum of 100 points is awarded. The qualified candidates are then ranked in the Express Entry EOI pool of PEI depending on their scores. EOIs of candidates in Express Entry pool who do not have a job offer are also welcomed by PEI. Nevertheless, those residing and working in the province are given priority.

Applicants who apply for a provincial nomination from PEI and are successful receive extra 600 points for their score in Comprehensive Ranking System. They can thus be assured of a Canada PR Visa.
