Ontario invites international student graduates and workers in five PNP draws

 Abstract: International student graduates and foreign workers were issued ITA in the PNP draws held at Ontario on February 28. 2022.

Highlights: In the Permanent Nominee Program or PNP draws held in Ontario, international students pursuing their post-graduation, Ph.D. graduates, working international students, and workers were issued the ITA or Invitations to Apply for the provincial nomination in Ontario. The OINP issued 173 invitations to candidates who had eligibility in the graduate stream of Ph.D. on February 28, 2022. The last draw for post-graduates and Ph.D. holders was held in the previous year in October. The candidates require a score of 16 in the EOI or Expression of Interest. Another draw was conducted on March 1, 2022; in that draw, it issued ITAs or Invitation to Apply to post-graduates, international students, and foreign workers.

Currently, 1493 international students and workers are eligible for permanent residency in Ontario.

 In order to be considered for the Post-Graduate or Ph.D., Graduate stream, interested students need to sign up the Ontario's e-Filing Portal. They should apply for an expression of interest for the graduate stream they are interested in. The province then invites eligible students to apply for the provincial nomination. It is an essential step for the permanent residency in Canada. Job offers are not necessary to apply, but the students must submit their application within two years of completing the graduation. International Students – Employer Job Offer

The students who have a job from an employer-based in Ontario are eligible under the Employer Job Offer for Ontario International Student Stream. It is not required to be staying in Canada while applying. They just need to meet the requirements for the eligibility. The eligibility criteria are

• Fulfillment of a program in a learning institution of Canada
• Job offer in from an employer based in Ontario
• Plan to immigrate to Ontario

For the ITA in this program, one has to apply for the Expression of Interest pool on the website of Ontario. The province gives points for factors on human capital. It is determined by the authorities of Ontario. The score will be based on the files that have been submitted. It will indicate an immigrant's ability to blend into the labor force of Ontario.
