Ontario invites 115 from the FSSW stream in latest OINP draw

Ontario, among the 9 Canadian provinces and 2 territories part of the Provincial Nominee Program [PNP], has held another round of invitations under Candian PNP.

On July 21, 2021, Ontario PNP – officially the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program [OINP] – issued notifications of interest [NOI] to candidates that might qualify for Ontario's Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker [FSSW] Stream.

The previous draw by Ontario PNP, an Expression of Interest draw, invited 55 from the In-Demand Skills stream on July 15, 2021. Recently, Ontario announced an EOI system for 5 OINP streams.

An Overview of the July 21 OINP round of invitations
Category Stream CRS score required Total invited
OINP Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream 461 to 467 115

Note. CRS: Comprehensive Ranking System, a maximum 1,200-points scoring, used by IRCC [Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada] for ranking profiles while in the Express Entry pool of candidates.

Among the 3 OINP streams aligned with the IRCC Express Entry system, the FSSW targets Canada immigration hopefuls – French-speaking skilled workers with strong English language abilities – that are seeking permanent residence within the province of Ontario in Canada.

A total of 115 candidates received NOIs in the latest OINP draw.

To be eligible for receiving an NOI in the July 21 draw by Ontario PNP, the candidate must have created their profile in the federal Express Entry system within the previous 1 year, that is, between July 21, 2020 to July 21, 2021.

The latest OINP draw specifically targeted French-speaking candidates. This is the 4th OINP draw of 2021 to invite candidates through the OINP’s FSSW stream. Previously, in 2021, FSSW candidates were issued invitations on – May 4, March 3, and January 13.

The OINP streams in general

*Linked with the IRCC Express Entry system. To be able to apply, a valid federal Express Entry profile as well as an NOI from the OINP will be required.

For an IRCC Express Entry candidate, a PNP nomination – under any of the IRCC Express Entry linked PNP streams – guarantees an ITA by IRCC to apply for Canada PR.

Applying for Canadian permanent residence through the Express Entry system is by invitation-only. It is the highest-ranked, based on their CRS scores, that are invited.

Worth 600 CRS points, a PNP nomination guarantees an ITA by IRCC in a subsequent federal draw to be held.

With the latest OINP draw, a total of 5,147 NOIs have been issued by Ontario PNP so far in 2021. Of these, 489 have been through the FSSW stream of the OINP.
