Orana Regional Authority that participates in the NSW Australia Subclass 489 Visa Sponsorship has announced changes in the application requirements and process. The changes have become effective from 1st June 2019.

RDA - Regional Development Australia Orana has now launched the EOI - Expression of Interest (EOI) process. This must be filed prior to a complete application. It is for screening candidates who are committed to living and work in the Orana region.

Explicit conditions for nomination from Orana region

From June onwards, EOIs from only specific applicants will be assessed. They must be residing and working in the Orana region from a minimum of 6 months. The work must exceed 30 hours every week, as quoted by the SBS.

The occupation that the applicant has been employed in must be suitable for being classified under one of the Long/Medium/Short term skills for Orana region. This implies that the occupation must quail for a Subclass 187/489/482 Visa in the region. Applications for Aged Care workers will also be accepted.

Proficient’ English will be required by ANZSCO Level 1 Occupations.

Meanwhile, applicants who are interested to file an EOI in June 2019 must have been residing and working in the Orana region for minimum 6 months. They can contact the skilled migration authorities in Orana if they are not sure regarding fulfilling the criteria. This is before submitting an EOI.

In case if the applicant submits an EOI and does not fulfil the criteria, the EOI will not advance and there is no REFUND.

The latest update must be noted by all the applicants of Regional Sponsorship with Orana under NSW Australia Subclass 489 Visa.

RDA Orana is an RCB - Regional Certifying Body for the Orana region situated in New South Wales. It offers skilled immigration services as a part of the overarching development strategy and workforce planning for this region.

Being an RCB, it evaluates the appropriateness of applications for catering to gaps in the current labour market. It then recommends these applications to the NSW Department of Industry or Department of Home Affairs. This implies that it plays a role in evaluating the eligibility for the following Australia Visas:

•    Skilled Regional Subclass 489 Provisional Visa: It evaluates the eligibility of the applicants for State sponsorship

•    Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Subclass 187 Visa: It is a Visa sponsored by the employer and has regional concessions. RDA Orana evaluates whether the nominated worker is catering to the skills needed by the region. It also assesses if their employment terms will be on par with Australian workers.
