Nova Scotia in Canada has launched a new 3 year pilot program for immigration aspirants. They must have a qualified job offer in any of its targeted occupations under intermediate skills.
NSNP - Nova Scotia Nominee Program said that specific professions are targeted by the latest Occupation in Demand stream. These are in high demand in the labour market in the province, it added, as quoted by the CIC News.
Currently, Occupation in Demand Stream is open to qualified candidates with a full-time job offer. It must be permanent and from an employer in Nova Scotia. This is in 2 specific occupations under Skill Level C category in NOC - National Occupational Classification of Canada:
Candidates must also fulfil the below requirements in order to qualify:
Transferable skills and work experience will be verified through reference letters from employers said NSNP. Supporting employment documents will also be needed, it added.
Candidates who are endorsed through the new immigration pilot will get a nomination from Nova Scotia. They can then apply for the Canada PR with the Canadian Government.
With the latest Occupation in Demand Stream pilot, the number of immigration streams operated by NSNP increases to 8.
Updates for its International Graduate Entrepreneur and Entrepreneur streams were also announced by NSNP. Existing owners of business will now be able to apply under the Entrepreneur Stream. They can also include the operating costs towards calculating the minimum investment requirement.
The ownership requirements for overseas graduates seeking o launch a business will change to 1/3rd from 100%.
