Manitoba’s latest draw held on 15th August invited 360 skilled workers and international graduates.
The invitations were issued under the following streams of the MPNP:
-Skilled Workers in Manitoba
-Skilled Workers Overseas
-International Education
Out of the 360 invitations, 32 invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates.
The MPNP issued 5,207 invitations in 2018. 98% of these invitations were issued under the two skilled workers categories.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
241 invitations were issued under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. Temporary foreign workers and international graduates who are already working in Manitoba can apply under this stream.
To apply under this stream, applicants must first create an online EOI profile. The EOI contains information like education, work experience, language skills etc. Each eligible profile is scored out of a total of 1,000 points and then put in the Manitoba EOI Pool.
The lowest-ranking candidate invited under this stream in the 15th August draw had a score of 542.
Skilled Workers Overseas
83 invitations were issued by the MPNP under the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream. These candidates were invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the MPNP.
To apply under this stream, applicants have to create an online profile just like in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category.
The lowest-scoring candidate in the 15th August draw had a score of 685.
Express Entry candidates who received invitations had valid profiles in the Express Entry Pool. They also had relevant work experience in any one occupation on the In-demand occupations list of Manitoba.
International Education Stream
This stream invites international graduates who meet the labour market requirements of Manitoba.
This stream has 3 sub-categories:
-Career Employment Pathway
- Student Entrepreneur Pathway
-Graduate Internship Pathway
36 invitations were issued in the 15th August draw to international graduates under this stream.
Manitoba has conducted 16 invitation rounds so far in 2019 and has issued 5,810 invitations, as per CIC News.
