Canada’s huge investment towards immigrant women in IT sector

Canada to invest $1.1 million into the Vancouver YWCA’s Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot (RNWP) program in the next two years. The investment will be made to help immigrant, and minority women get IT jobs in Canada.

Vancouver YWCA is one of the many organizations that offer several programs through Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot.

Racialized Newcomer Women Pilot (RNWP) program

From 2021, organizations under the RNWP program have already received a pledge of over $15 million. The funding is being made so that organizations can deliver programs addressing the barriers like:

• Unstable employment
• Lack of affordable childcare
• Gender and race-based discrimination faced by racialized newcomer women.
