The Indian International Skilling Centre (IISC) Network aims to promote international workforce mobility by placing 1,00,000 skilled Indian candidates overseas, training 2,50,000 candidates through pre-trial orientation, and approving 25,000 workers through appreciation of prior learning assessment and certification overseas.
In January 2021, India and Japan signed an agreement of Cooperation to introduce 'Specified Skilled Worker' between Japan and India. Japan introduced 'Specified Skilled Workers' to address the country's workers shortages by accepting foreign skilled workers with certain expertise and skills.
