The minimum income requirements for some of the New Zealand Visas have been enhanced by the Immigration New Zealand. This is as a part of the regular annual revision of minimum income requirements. These changes are aimed to ensure that immigrants possess the required funds for supporting themselves. It includes their family members as well.

The enhanced minimum income requirements were prompted by the changes to the Income and Work payment levels. The new Families Package of the Government was also a contributing factor.

Religious Worker and Essential Skills Work Visa:

The immigrants who possess the above categories of visas will need to have a minimum annual income of 42,944.20$ from 1 July 2018 to support dependent kids. It will also be for supporting a Student or Visitor Visa. Income can be combined to cater to this level if both the parents possess Essential Skills Visas, as quoted by the MONDAQ.

Tier 1 Parent Category Visa:

Applicants under this category of New Zealand Visas relying on the criteria of minimum lifetime income will need 41,494 $ as a couple. It will be 28,166$ for a single applicant and effective from July 1, 2018.
