The great rise in PR invites via Canada PNPs in 2018

The year 2018 witnessed a phenomenal rise in the number of PR invites offered through Canada Provincial Nomination Programs. This is as per the latest data of the Canadian Government.

62, 500 Canada PR invites were offered to Express Entry candidates during January and September 2018. Out of these, 7,500 or 12% had a nomination from a province, as quoted by the CIC News. In 2017 the % was 9% during the same period.

Canada PNPs distribute the immigration benefits across Canada more evenly. This is by permitting the participation of territories and provinces of Canada. They nominate a specific number of candidates for economic immigration and Canada PR every year.

Each territory and province with an immigrant nominee program now has minimum 1 immigration stream aligned with federal Express Entry. This manages the candidates for 3 economic immigration programs of Canada. These are Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class.

Candidates in Express Entry receive extra 600 CRS points if they receive a nomination from a province. This is towards their ranking score in Express Entry. It effectively ensures an ITA in the consequent invitation round in Express Entry. This is held by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

The number of Express Entry candidates receiving a provincial nomination is now on the rise. They receive 600 extra points along with it. This could also be the reason to an extent for the CRC minimum score not going below 440.

Obtaining a nomination from a province is now emerging as the best option for express Entry candidates to receive ITA. This is if the trend continues. It is also for those candidates whose CRS scores are less than 440.
