Citizens of select nations can now obtain the Saudi E-Visas in just a few minutes now. These are the nationals of the US, all Schengen Area nations, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, South Korea, Japan, and Australia. The announcement was made recently by Saudi Arabia.
Obtaining Saudi E-Visas will take only a few minutes for the above nationalities. This is after online submission of the application form. The system was also tested on a pilot basis. This was during the Formula E event held in Riyadh and racing fans were offered the Saudi E-Visas.
The Saudi E-Visas have been designed to open Saudi Arabia for overseas travelers and quickening the process of getting a visa. This has now been offered to select nationalities only, as quoted by the Khaleej Times.
The E-Visas mark a big change for Saudi Arabia. The nation has historically remained one of the toughest nations to arrive at. It will take just a couple of minutes for completing the application online. Also, there will be no need to visit a consulate or embassy. The E-Visa will be sent to the traveler by email after the application has been completed and approved.
Travelers who are not from the visa exempt nations need a visa to arrive at Saudi Arabia. The Visa exempt nations are Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and UAE. The overseas nationals who are not being offered the E-Visas now must obtain the visa in person at the nearest Embassy.
The new E-Visas being offered by Saudi Arabia are being offered to select overseas citizens as of now. The application process is online and will be simple and quick to complete.
