Student Visa for Spain from India

In a notice published on its official website on July 23, the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi has stated that the visa application process had been opened “exclusively for student visas”.

Citizens of India that had been admitted at a university in Spain could now submit their Spain student visa application at the Spanish Embassy in New Delhi. The Embassy remains closed for all other kinds of visa applicants.

A prior appointment will have to be scheduled for availing the facilities that have been reopened exclusively for admitting student visa applications. Appointments will have to be scheduled through a web link provided on the official website of the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi.

Do note that additional documentation will have to be provided along with the regular documents that are submitted with a Spain student visa application.

As per the official notice, an Indian national wishing to study in Spain that already had a student visa issued by the Embassy of Spain but were unable to use it due to the COVID-19 pandemic could submit a new application with the documents submitted with their previous visa application along with –

A fresh medical certificate, if applying for a visa of over 180 days’ duration.
Confirmation of enrolment by the educational centre in Spain. Wherever applicable, proof of modification of the course dates will also have to be provided.
Medical insurance that has been adapted as per the new visa dates or additional insurance covering the period that had not been covered in the original insurance.

Universities across the world have been adapting to the current global scenario. While many have turned to online-only classes, countries like Australia have announced various visa changes affecting international students.
