According to recent reports by the World Bank titled 'Migrants, Refugees and Societies,' Indians who migrated abroad for work experienced more than 100% surge in their earnings. Studies show that an Indian worker working in their homeland would need around 20 years to increase their income to that level. This is one of the major reasons why the immigration rate is so high among Indians.
One of the main reasons for such a high surge in income rates while migrating abroad is the wage gap between the country of origin and the destination country of immigrants. Indians who work abroad have experienced an average hike of 118% in their income levels, while immigrants from Ghana and Bangladesh experience around 153% and 210% rises in their income, respectively.
