Sean Fraser says, “Targeting draws for skilled immigrants will start from 2023”

In 2023, Canada plans to start targeted draws to issue invitations to skilled immigrants to live, settle, and work in the country. Mostly healthcare workers like doctors and nurses will be invited through these draws. The invitations will be issued only for those provinces where validation of foreign credentials and start practicing is easy after the arrival of immigrants.

Ranking of economic immigrants in Canada

Economic immigration candidates are ranked on the basis of the following:

  • Language proficiency
  • Educational qualification
  • Work experience

Many other factors besides these are used to rank the applicants. A CRS score is provided and the applicants having the highest rank receive invitations to submit applications for a Canada PR. The change will help the country to filter out the candidates on the basis of sectors or the regions where they want to work.
