In the latest Express Entry Draw #131 held on November 27, Canada issued 3,600 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence to Express Entry candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 471 and above.

With the latest draw, Canada has sent 78,900 ITAs so far in 2019. T

otal ITAs issued in 2018 amounted to 89,800. With a month still remaining for the year to end, a mere 11,000 ITAs are needed to match up to the previous year’s record.

In the latest draw, CRS 471 was the cut-off. The previously held draw of November 13 had a CRS 472 cut-off.

The cut-off for the CRS is affected by the two deciding factors of –

  • The size of the draw. While a larger draw usually has a lower minimum CRS requirement, smaller draws generally have a comparatively higher CRS cut-off.
  • The time between two consecutive draws. A shorter time period between two consecutive draws can lower the CRS. With a greater time period, the Express Entry pool is replenished in the interval, resulting in a higher CRS cut-off in the next draw.

Tie-break time and date applied was of November 11, 2019, at 6:29:10 UTC.

Candidates with CRS 471 that had submitted their profiles before this date and time received ITAs.

While the target had been set at 81,400 for 2019, it is believed that the admissions target will be raised in 2020 to 85,800 for the 3 Express Entry-managed Economic Class immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

Similarly, the admissions target for Canada’s Provincial Nomination Program (PNP), will also be increased to 67,800 in 2020. The admission target for 2019 stands at 61,000.
