Canada allows Working Holiday Visa holders to extend their visas, whose travel was interrupted due to pandemics.
Basically, the Working Holiday Visa is a one-and-done deal, but due to the COVID effect, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) is giving exceptions.
New Policy in Canada
The Working Holiday Visa holders having a letter of introduction (LOI), is about to expire and canceled their journey due to pandemic can extend their letter. As per the government officials, this new policy is not applicable to other International Experience Canada (IEC) participants.
It is also not applicable to those individuals whose initial LOI was issued between January 1, 2019, and April 30, 2020. The new policy is applicable to individuals whose LOI has an expiry date before December 21, 2021.
This new policy is open from July 30, 2021. To get the Working Holiday Visa extension, you need to request the extension using IRCC’s website on or before December 31, 2021.
Requirements for the new policy
Medical examination reports should be submitted if you live in a chosen country. If the individual requires a repeat medical examination, you need to contact the immigration officer.
The officer might ask to undergo a new medical examination. Moreover, your file will be reopened for the purpose of submitting a new medical exam request.
If your medical examination receipt is confirmed, then your extension for LOI will be issued.
