The admired Canada AIPP - Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program is now being extended till 2021 end. This is after a successful run of 3 years so far after being launched in 2017. It has offered Canada PR Visa invitations to 2,500 primary applicants along with their accompanying family members.
In additional good news for prospective applicants, a few of the eligibility criterions have been relaxed. This would be welcomed even by the local community and employers. It will potentially bring more individuals and families a step closer to immigrating to Atlantic Canada.
In 2019 spring, the immigration authorities in Canada announced that more partners and spouses of applicants will be able to be employed in Canada. This is as the family unit starts settling into life in Canada, as quoted by the CIC News.
Immigration Officers can offer a Canada Open Work Permit through C41 LMIA exemption code. This is to a common-law partner or spouse of Canada AIPP participant. It is if the applicant is working in a NOC - National Occupational Classification C, B, A or 0 positions.
The Open Work Visa must have a validity conforming to the Work Visa of the primary applicant. This is for maximum 1 year or till the expiry of the travel document or passport of the common-law-partner or spouse, whichever is earlier. The Work Visa for the common-law-partner or spouse can be offered at POE (port of entry).
