The Arctic Circle, Fjords and the Northern Lights- there are many natural beauties in Norway.
If you aspire to study in Norway, here’s how you can get a Student Visa for Norway:
1. UDI student visa system
To start your study overseas journey, first, log on to The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) website. You would need to check if your country is eligible for Student Visa status.
The UDI student visa system tells you your eligibility for the Student Visa.
It also tells you if you can work during your studies. If so, how many hours you can work per week.
You can know the requirements of the Student Visa through the UDI system.
The website will also let you know the processing time of your student permit.
You can also apply for the Student Visa online and track the status through the UDI student visa system.
2. Student Visa renewal
The UDI student visa system also lets you renew your student permit online.
The website guides you through the renewal process. You may also track the status of your application.
The requirements for renewing your Student Visa are as below:
* You need to pay the application fee
* You should either be a student at a University/college or an upper secondary student
* If you are a student at a religion-based school, you may not hold a residence permit for more than a year
* You cannot be behind for more than a year in your studies
* You should have a place in a study program either in a University or an upper secondary school
* You should be in education full-time
* You should have sufficient funds to sustain yourself. The requirement is at least NOK 116,369 per year. Student loans, grants etc. may be included in these funds. If you have a part-time job in Norway, the income from the job may also be included.
Students from Iceland, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark do not need a Student Visa, as per Study International. However, such students must inform the Norwegian tax office and opt for an ID check.
Students from within the EEA and EFTA may study in Norway for up to 90 days without a study permit.
