British Columbia issues 73 invites in a new Tech pilot draw

In the draw held on 16^th July, British Columbia in Canada issued 73 invitation to candidates under its Skills Immigration and EE BC.

This draw saw the second-largest number of invitations issued for the BCPNP Tech pilot this year. This draw is also the eight consecutive draw with a minimum cut-off of 90 points in all 4 categories.

The BC PNP issued invitations under the following categories:

• EE BC Skilled Worker
• EE BC International Graduate
• SI Skilled Worker
• SI International Graduate

The BC PNP Tech Pilot was founded after the TechTalentBC Report of 2016. This report identified the shortage of skilled technology workers was the biggest hurdle for tech companies in the province.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot was launched in 2017. The pilot provides a fast-track route for Canada PR.

To be eligible, you should have relevant work experience in any of the 29 in-demand tech occupations. It is also mandatory to have a job offer from an employer from British Columbia. The job offer should be for at least one year.

Invited candidates under the Skills Immigration (SI) and EE BC (Express Entry British Columbia) can apply for a provincial nomination. A provincial nomination adds 600 extra points to your CRS score, as per CIC News.
