Emmanuel Macron launched an extraordinary attack on the Brexiteers by calling them, liars. The French President said that Brexiteers explained that the UK can live easily without the EU. Everything will be alright, they added, he said. It will also bring home lot of money for the UK, said the Brexit camp leaders. All these people are nothing but liars said Macron.
The President of France was addressing the media at the end of the Salzburg summit. Brexit was portrayed as a victory by those wanted easy solutions, he said. These people are liars, added Macron. Brexit camp leaders evicted the scene the next day so they don’t have to manage it, he explained.
Macron also clarified at the press conference that he will not accept any ‘blind deal’. Under this, the nature of future trade ties of the UK with the EU would be decided after the exit.
The stand taken by Emmanuel Macron is another blow to the UK Prime Minister. The EU has already rejected May’s Chequers proposal. The only possible deal that was remaining was the ‘blind deal’, as quoted by the Express Co UK.
The liars behind the Brexit were not named by Emmanuel Macron. However, he targeted those who assured that exit from the EU would bring home huge money for the UK.
The Brexiteers camp was led at the forefront by Michael Gove and Boris Johnson. They had infamously vowed that Brexit would bring in additional £350 million per week for the NHS. This claim has now been extensively rejected.
The French President also clarified that the UK Prime Minister will have to bring in a fresh plan. This is by the next EU summit to be held in October, he added.
