New Electronic Visa has been launched by Brazil for Australia, Canada, Japan and the US. The Australian nationals who intend to visit Brazil for short duration can now avail the E-visa that has a validity of 2 successive years. It offers the holders a stay of 3 months every year.
New Electronic Visa launched by Brazil is likely to be available for nationals of Japan from 11th January. The nationals of Canada can avail this by 18th January and the US nationals from 25th January, as quoted by the NB Herard.
The system of E-Visa was proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brazil. It was supported by the Tourism Ministry. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the tourism sector in the nation. The US, Canada, Japan, and Australia accounted for 60% of the total visa applications in 2015 for Brazil.
Ministry of Tourism International Relations Office Head Rafael Luisi said that earlier it was required that tourists carry all the documents. They had to then submit this to the Consulate of Brazil. The entire process would take 40 to 30 days for granting a visa.
The E-Visa o the other hand eases and simplifies the processing of visas. It also increases the pace of visa delivery. Tourists who satisfy the criterions will now not need to visit the closest Consulate in Brazil to get a visa, added Luisi.
The E-Visa for Brazil can be utilized for Education, Medical treatment, Business and Tourism purposes amongst several other objectives. It is essential that visitors do not stay beyond the 3 months period per year. A new E-Visa for Brazil must be applied if the passport validity ends before the visa.
