Things you must know about Austria Permanent Immigration

Potential Immigrants often aim at migrating to Austria for its diverse Permanent Immigration options. The Residence Permit is needed if Immigrants are planning to stay for longer than 6 months. They require a Visa for staying in the country for up to 6 months. For some nationals outside the EU, a Visa is not needed to stay in Austria for up to 3 months.

Let’s have a look at the Austria Permanent Immigration option and its requirements.

Red-White-Red Card

This Residence Permit a criteria-based Permanent Immigration system. However, the candidate must be a skilled worker from a country outside the EU. To live and work in Austria for up to 2 years, Immigrants can acquire this Permit. Their family too can apply for Red-White-Red Card plus. Following are the eligibility criteria of this Permanent Immigration option -

  • Skilled Workers for in-demand occupations
  • Graduates from Austrian Institutions
  • Start-up Founders
  • Self-employed Workers
  • Very Highly-qualified Workers
  • Other Key Workers

General requirements

Immigrants must fulfil the following requirements in order to attain Permanent Immigration in Austria.

A fixed personal income

Immigrants must possess a fixed and regular earning, as quoted by migration.gv.at. They should be able to cover their living costs. The monthly income of the candidate should amount to equalization supplement reference rate. The same is provided in the General Social Insurance Act.

For singles, the rate is € 933. Couples should have an earning of at least € 1,399. For each child, the rate goes up by nearly € 144.

Health insurance coverage

Health insurance that provides benefits in Austria is a must for all Immigrants. It should cover all risks pertaining to their stay in the country. However, registration with the public social insurance system is sufficient.

Accommodation

Immigrants must present a lease agreement proving the possession of a local accommodation. It must be adequate for their family size.

Zero threat to security

The stay in Austria should not in any way affect public security. It also shouldn’t have an adverse impact on Austria’s relationship with other countries.
