Happening news to the travelers to Australia!
Australia re-opens its borders for non-residents despite new Omicron worries. The country has already delayed the re-opening of international travel by two weeks because of the advent of a new strain of coronavirus, Omicron. But later, as per the health officials, it showed milder symptoms than other coronavirus variants.
On December 15, 2021, Australia reopened its borders to vaccinated skilled migrants and international students after a ban of 21 months. The country is targeting to boost its economy, which was seriously hit by COVID-19 lockdowns.
All the travelers have mentioned their happiness regarding their meet to their near ones after a span of nearly two years.
"We're going to live with this virus, and we're not going to let it drag us back to where we've been," We've got one of the highest vaccination rates, which means we can fight this thing. We don't have to surrender to it," Morrison told radio station 4BC. |
Australia has allowed around 90 percent of people having above 16 years, with two doses of vaccination shots and omit the time for booster shots after the emergence of Omicron cases. This relaxation of the border rules will ease the labor shortages, which will rebound its economy.
According to the officials, the country allows nearly 235,000 foreigners, along with 160,000 students, who have held visas for Australia at the end of October. New South Wales, which is the biggest city of Sydney, has lifted the restrictions for even unvaccinated, despite the rise in Omicron infections.
