The Migration Strategy, released last week, outlines a comprehensive overview of the nation’s immigration system. Australia intends to halve its immigration intake over the next two years by implementing strict visa regulations for international students and low skilled workers.

Impact on Indians seeking relocation:

  • International students aspiring to pursue studies in Australia will have to pass more difficult English Proficiency Exams. This move is intended to guarantee students are proficient in English and to enhance their overall academic experience.
  • Second visa applications will have more scrutiny, especially those seeking extensions. This closer examination is in an effort to simplify immigration processes and assess the genuine intentions of those wishing to stay in the nation.
