The 8th Canada PR Draw for 2019 under Express Entry offered 3, 350 ITAs with an unchanged CRS score at 451. This is the same as the CRS score for the previous draw held on 3rd April 2019. The latest draw was held on 17th April 2019.
So far in 2019, Canada has offered 27, 900 ITAs - Invitations to Apply to candidates in the Express Entry pool. Last year by this time 21,000 ITAs had been offered by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The current record for ITAs under Express Entry was set in 2018 with 89, 800.
Higher targets for admission have been set by IRCC in 2019 and 2020 under its 3 Federal High Skilled classes. Thus, it is likely that the total ITAs in 2019 will break the record of 2018, as quoted by the CIC News.
The pool of candidates for Canada’s 3 main economic immigration programs is managed by the Express Entry system. These are:
• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Trades Class
• Federal Skilled Worker Class
Qualified candidates for these streams are entered into the pool in Express Entry and assigned a score for ranking. This is based on their diverse factors like English or French proficiency, Work experience, Education, etc. The candidates with the highest ranking are offered ITAs for Canada PR through frequent draws in the pool.
The rule of tie-breaker was applied by IRCC even in the 17th April draw. The date and time were set on 2 April 2019 and 15:01:49 UTC. It means that all candidates whose CRS scores were higher than 451 received the ITAs in this draw. Along with those who scored 451 and entered the profiled prior to the set time and date also obtained the ITAs.
