Indian immigration to the UK has seen a notable increase

The annual net migration to the UK rose from 607,000 to 672,000 in the year ending June 30, 2023, compared to the previous year. Furthermore, the projected net migration for the year ending in December 2022 was revised upwards to 745,000, which shows a significant increase of 139,000.

Over the past decade, the political landscape in Britain has been shaped by increased levels of legal migration. Despite remaining at notably high levels, the current figure surpasses the 2015 count of 329,000 by more than doubling it.

According to the ONS, the majority of migrants who arrived via humanitarian channels did so in order to fill positions in the health and care sectors, which accounted for the majority of the recent net migration data.
