The Top 10 Latin American Nations for University Rankings in 2018 has been revealed by the Times Higher Education and Brazil remains at the #1 position. Brazil continues to lead in higher education in the Latin American region.
Brazil maintained its status capturing 6 of the revered top 10 spaces as well as a third of total positions. The nation has witnessed 43 institutions obtain a place in 2018’s prestigious list. It is a whopping increase of 32 from the figures of 2017.
The rankings for 2018 have been expanded and enhanced to cover a total of 10 Latin American Nations along with those in the Caribbean region. Peru has made a re-entry into the league even as Jamaica launches its entry in the list, as quoted by the Study International.

The second-most represented nation was Chile with 26 institutions which were an impressive increase over the 18 in 2017. Mexico was in 3rd position with 22 Universities which was also an increase over 13 in 2017.
The 4th position has been occupied by Columbia with a representation of 19 institutions up from eleven in 2017. Argentina steered ahead of Venezuela to the 5th position with 7 universities which was 2 plus from the 5 in 2017.
The major comeback was however by Peru. It was represented by just 1 institution in 2016 while 3 of its Universities entered the league in 2018.
