More students are participating in the San Diego State’s Study Abroad program and the number is growing every year. It has been named the eight largest study abroad programs in the USA with more than 3,000 students studying in 52 countries worldwide.
The study abroad program of SDSU is holding information fair on September 11, 2018. It will be held at the North Library Walkway from 10 am to 2 pm, as per the Daily Aztec.
Students can study abroad as early as the summer between the first and second year of their course. In case your course has an internship component you may need to go later.
The length of the study abroad programs may differ; some may be as long as a year and others may be as short as a spring break.
Many students who are interested in pursuing STEM courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) are opting for courses in Germany. Germany has a lot of STEM jobs and that is an added allure for the students.
Some students are of the opinion that a course in Germany costs much lesser than studying full time in the San Diego State University. This is because the cost of living in Germany is much lesser than that in the USA. Also, Germany has a lot of public funded Universities and hence students do not need to pay a tuition fee. Getting free education abroad is a major attraction of the study abroad program.
Studying abroad exposes you to a brand new culture. Not only does it increase your cultural awareness but you also become much more aware of your own hometown and country. It gives a whole new perspective to the students helping them transform into global citizens.
