What are the requirements for Australia PR?

For a candidate to apply to Australia PR, there are certain requirements, such as:

Age: The applicant must be under the age of 45.

 

Language Proficiency Test: The candidates who are applying for Australia PR need to have proficiency in the English language. For Australia PR, one can give a

• IELTS - with an average score of 6 points
• PET - with a minimum score of 65 points

Work Experience: A candidate must have a work experience outside Australia and in Australia. The more experience they have the more points they can score on the Australia Points Calculator.

 

Education: The applicant must have a degree that either from an Australian university or from a university that is outside of Australia and is recognized by the Australian government.

 

Skilled Occupation List: While a person is applying for Australia PR, the applicant must have or choose a skill that is mentioned in the Skilled Occupation List (SOL). There are 3 categories under this list, they are:

• Regional Occupation List (ROL)
• Short Term Skilled Occupational List (STSOL)
• Medium and Long Term Strategic Skill List (MLTSSL)

Skilled Assessment Test: The applicant must go through a skill assessment test from the Skill Select Portal. In this test the candidate will have to answer a series of questions that are related to their skills. Each of the above mentioned categories have a separate evaluation process.

 

Spouse application: If the applicant's spouse is also applying for PR, there are certain requirements, they are:

• The spouse must be under the age of 45
• The spouse must have a basic competent level score in English
• The spouse's occupation should be mentioned in the same list as that of the applicant

Other requirements: The other requirements that can add points for the applicant are as follows:

 

Study in a regional area	5 points
Accredited in community language	5 points
Professional year in a skilled program in Australia	5 points
State sponsorship (190 visas)	5 points
Relative or regional sponsorship (491 visa)	15 Points
