As per an official announcement by the Business and Skilled Migration Queensland [BSMQ], the BSMQ business and skilled program is open from September 29 until October 5, 2020. As per the BSMQ, only decision-ready applications in a COVID-19 priority area are to be considered.
BSMQ is the state nominating body for the Queensland Government. The BSMQ, in partnership with Australia’ Department of Home Affairs, nominates successful skilled as well as business applicants that wish to settle down within Queensland in Australia.
Under the Skilled Migration Plans, the Australia government allows the individual states and territories in the country to sponsor general skilled migration applicants belonging to a wide range of occupations so as to address skilled labour shortages existing locally.
Along with laying down as to which state and territorial government in Australia can nominate applicants, the State Migration Plans also specify the number of visas that can be granted through the program.
