Under the Australian points system, you need at least 65 points to migrate to Australia and qualify for Australia PR. However, scoring above 65 increases your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Age is an important factor in deciding to migrate to Australia since most visas have an age limit of 45. Different age groups under 45 are awarded different points. Individuals belonging to the age group 25-32 receive the maximum points.

The Australian Government allows applicants to take English proficiency tests such as IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc. A score of 8 in IELTS can get you a maximum of 20 points.
Skilled employment is another important factor when deciding your score. Skilled employment in Australia with a work experience of 8 years in the last 10 years can get you a maximum of 20 points, while skilled employment outside Australia with a work experience of 8 years in the previous 10 years can get you a maximum of 15 points.

Maximum points are awarded to applicants with a doctoral degree from any Australian university or university outside Australia recognized by the Australian Government. A maximum of 20 points if the doctoral degree is from Australia or outside Australia and a maximum of 15 points if the bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree is from Australia or outside Australia.
