Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) is a category within the Express Entry but specifically for skilled workers interested in settling in a particular territory or province. The two PNP streams that is for IT professionals are Ontario’s and British Columbia’s Tech Pilot. The Global Talent stream is designed as an immigration pathway for Canadian employers to hire foreign tech talent.
The Global Talent stream, hires those who are referred to the stream or those who are hired for specific roles. GTS have access to fast hiring process for foreign skilled workers who will support their company’s growth, allowing applicants to work around two weeks from the date of their application submission.
This program is beneficial to IT professionals who want to settle in Canada. This program has many qualifying tech occupations, such as software engineers and designers, computer programmers, information system analysts, and computer/information system managers.
The CUSMA is for professionals under the work permit for multilateral agreements between Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Certain U.S. and Mexican citizens can apply for a work visa in Canada without an LMIA, which allows foreign nationals from these countries to work in Canada.
Some eligible IT occupations include computer systems analysts, graphic designers, technical publications writers, and computer engineers.
Intra-company transfers are for foreign nationals who can get an LMIA without a work permit. This benefit is only allowed to foreign nationals who have been employed with a company abroad for at least one year and will be entering Canada with the intention of working in the same company or its branch.
