Canada is welcoming Irish nationals even as other nations such as the US, New Zealand and Australia are shutting their doors. Irish nationals are specifically privileged when it comes to Canadian Immigration plans.
Canada has included Ireland amongst the nations with whom it shares reciprocal agreement through the IEC initiative. Citizens of Ireland below the age of 36 years are also qualified for 2 years Open Work Permits while the majority of overseas youth get an only 1-year permit.
The Work Permit offered to Irish nationals allows them to work in any destination in Canada with any employer. This offers them diverse opportunities for gaining experience in Canada and options for PR as well, as quoted by the Irish Times.
Canada will accept more than 1 million + fresh Permanent Residents between 2018 and 2020. Majority of these newcomers will be admitted through economic immigration pathways. This will be on the basis of their age, experience, language skills, education level and prospects for employment.
Canada will also keep up its global reputation as a safe shelter for refugees. Tens of thousands of refugees will be settled in the nation annually. Canada will also continue to accept overseas students in steady numbers. Many of these are expected to transition to Canada PR.
Immigration arguments in across Canada are ideally focused on details and not ideology. This includes recognition of overseas credentials and settlement resources. A handful of institutions and individuals that propose severe immigration cuts are viewed as extreme elements.
Siobhan Young is amongst the several thousands of overseas nationals who transition to Canada PR annually. She is expecting that her application will be processed at the earliest ending almost 10 years of ambiguity. This will also facilitate her long-term Canadian plans.
