Yes, an International worker or non-EU resident can work in Austria without knowing German. However, English may be more commonly used in specific job sectors, particularly in international companies, start-ups, research institutions, hospitality, and some tech-related fields.

However, if the employer won’t consider the language requirements, a well-qualified job seeker with good work experience and the required skills is necessary. If the candidates don’t know German, there are fewer sectors available.

The job opportunities in Austria are limited as English is a business language for lower-skilled workers in the production or construction sector, in the tourism industry, in the IT industry, or in job openings in international companies.
