There are four types of partner visa options such as:
Subclass 801: Subclass 801 visa allows the spouse or common-law partner of an Australian passport holder or PR holder to live in Australia permanently. It is mainly for candidates. It is usually only for those applicants with a current visa (subclass 820). With this visa, the partner can stay for two years.
Subclass 820: Subclass 820 allows an Australian resident or citizen's spouse or joint law partner to live, work, and study in Australia temporarily. The applicant must reside in Australia for this visa. The first step toward a Permanent Partner visa is Subclass 820 then the applicant can apply for subclass 801.
Subclass 309: The subclass 309 visa is a temporary partner visa in Australia that allows the spouse or common-law partner of an Australian resident to live in the country temporarily. To apply for this visa, the family must be outside Australia at the time of application and granted a spouse visa.
Subclass 100: Subclass 100 visa allows the spouse or common-law partner of an Australian national, permanent visa holder, to live in the country permanently. This visa is usually issued to temporary Partner visa applicants (subclass 309). For the visa, the applicant must continue to have a genuine and on-going relationship with your partner. With this visa, the partner can stay for two years.
