Boston University (MS programs)

Boston University, or BU, is a private university located in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1839 in Newbury, Vermont, it shifted to Boston in 1867. 

The university, which has more than 33,670 students, offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degree programs. Through 17 schools and colleges on three campuses, it offers business, medical, and law degrees. The main campus is situated along the Charles River and is a mile and a half long.  

Foreign nationals comprise about a third of its student population. Out of the total student population, 14,000 of them are enrolled in the College of Arts and Science, Business School, and College of Engineering.

It has an acceptance rate of 20%. To gain admission to any graduate program, foreign students need to have a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0, which is equivalent to 83% to 90%, a minimum score of 84 in TOEFL-iBT, a minimum score of 620 on GMAT, and work experience of at least two years. 

The cost of attendance at Boston University is $72,814, which is inclusive of tuition fees of $55,824.6 and living costs ranging from $13,348 to $15,774.7 per annum.

Boston University offers scholarships to both native and foreign students. Every year, merit-based scholarships are offered to all undergraduate students. They receive financial assistance worth $329.5 million.

Foreign students of the university are awarded Trustee and Presidential Scholarships. They obtain scholarships based on their written essays.   

Through their academic departments or programs, Metropolitan College’s graduate students are allowed to apply for assistantships. About 90% of MBA students are awarded scholarships that will cover 50% of the tuition fees.
