The University of Sheffield (BEng Programs)

The University of Sheffieldknown also as Sheffield University or TUOS, is a public university located in Sheffield, United Kingdom. The University of Sheffield was formed when three institutions were merged in 1897 and it received a royal charter in 1905.

The University of Sheffield does not have a demarcated campus, but the majority of its 430 buildings are located fairly close to each other. The area in Main Campus is in Western Bank and another important campus is in the St George’s area. 

Sheffield comprises five faculties and one international faculty that are further divided into 50 academic departments. The Faculty of Engineering has departments of Aerospace Engineering, Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical, and Biological Engineering, Civil and Structural Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

The University of Sheffield offers more than 260 undergraduate programs to foreign students.

Indian students need to have secured a minimum of 75% in Class XII, or higher secondary, or equivalent to gain admission to the bachelor’s programs. 

  • Students pursuing under graduation must bear expenses ranging from £19,050 to £24,450 per year.
  • The university offers 75Merit Scholarships for undergraduate students which cover 50% of their tuition fees if they get at least 60% in their exams. Additionally, students are also allowed to apply for external UK-based scholarships depending on their eligibility.
  • Students can pursue one placement year of a minimum of six months in their bachelor’s programs with consent from their particular departments.

Among the facilities available for on-campus residents are a village store, bistro, and café.

Included in the room types are en-suite, deluxe, shared bathrooms, and studios, among others.

Within each room is a bed, desk chair, wardrobe, mirror, etc.

Houses and apartments are available for students with families and groups who are willing to stay together.

Programs at the University of Sheffield

Application Process of the University of Sheffield 

Application Portal: For undergraduate courses, students have to apply online through the UCAS website.

The cost of the application fee for undergraduate students varies from £20 to £30.
