Founded in 1992, the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) was set up in Caux Palace, Montreux, in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. It has another campus in Leysin in the canton of Vaud, not too far away from Montreux.

It focuses on applied proficiency, where global business management abilities are showcased. The aim of SHMS is to cultivate future captains of the international hospitality sector.

According to QS World University Rankings 2023, It was ranked third worldwide by subject.

It allows students to develop their skills as they manage several restaurants as well as spa facilities, oversee events for customers, and nurture concepts of interior design that can be executed in actual circumstances.

The campuses house a grand theatre, banqueting halls, and completely furnished wet and dry spas, among others.

The campus of Caux Palace affords a view of the Swiss Riviera, which is housed in an exotic former palace hotel. While the Leysin campus is located in two former hotels located amidst the Swiss Alps. Students at both campuses can access an academic atmosphere with cutting-edge facilities and state-of-the-art technology.

The University of Derby, a leading university in the United Kingdom in the areas of tourism and hospitality, awards degrees in bachelors, MSc, and Masters of International Business in Hotel Management.

The courses of SHMs in hotel management have been developed in collaboration with renowned hospitality companies, such as the Club Med and Dorchester Collection.

Swiss Hotel Management School was awarded the esteemed ‘Apple Distinguished School’ honor to appreciate its pioneering use of technology to back educational objectives.

The tuition fees SHMS charges are about $27,100 per semester, and the cost of living on both campuses is roughly $40 270 per year.

The major medium of instruction at the Swiss Hotel Management School is English. It offers students varied sporting and recreational facilities, including a gym, sports grounds for football, volleyball, and basketball, among others, along with restaurants, cafes, bars, a disco, etc.
