University of Leipzig

Leipzig University (Universität Leipzig) is located in Leipzig in the Free State of Saxony, Germany. Established in 1409, the university is spread over 38 locations in Leipzig. 

The university has 14 faculties where more than 29,000 students are housed. The university offers 190 study programs at different levels. Foreign nationals make up 12% of the total student population.

The Campuses of the University of Leipzig 

The University of Leipzig campus hosts a University Library that is centuries-old, the university archives, and three museums.

Accommodation at the University of Leipzig 

The university does not offer any on-campus accommodation. Foreign students are allowed to apply for rooms in student halls of residences that are operated by Studentenwerk Leipzig.
They can apply for it once they receive an admission offer from the University of Leipzig.

In these halls of residence, students are given single apartments as well as shared flats. The usual costs of shared flats can range from €180 to €290. The cost of apartments ranges from €250 to €425.

Admission Process of the University of Leipzig

Foreign candidates can apply for admission at its two intakes – Summer and Winter. They can apply to the postgraduate programs through the Uni-assist application portal at the university. Before they apply, candidates are required to show proficiency in German and English language.

Undergraduate degree with 180 ECTS (or more) or its equivalent from a reputable university

Minimum two years of professional experience in the area of SMEs promotion and training

Special Requirements:

Students from India with a three-year Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply if they fulfill the following: Minimum grade: First division/class 60% and above or A = Very Good and above or a GPA from 3.00 onwards

Chinese and Vietnamese applicants are required to submit an APS-Certificate

English Proficiency

TOEFL IBT minimum score of 78, or IELTS academic at least 6.0 overall band, or English proficiency letter if the medium of instruction in the undergraduate program was English.
