The Beedie School of Business, or as it is popularly known as Beedie, is a business school at the SFU or Simon Fraser University with many campuses in the Lower Mainland in British Columbia, Canada. Simon Fraser University was established in 1965. In 1982, the discipline of business had grown enough to form its own separate faculty. The undergraduate degree of BBA or Bachelor of Business Administration was established.

  1. Full-Time MBA

The full-time MBA or Master of Business Administration program at Beedie facilitates opportunities for you to get valuable skills and knowledge to transform your business in the private or public sectors or start your business initiative.

  1. MBA in Management of Technology

The MBA program in Management of Technology is aimed at professionals who are working. It is conducted in classes in Vancouver, Canada, on the basis of part-time. International students who are working in Canada on a work permit are eligible for the study program.

The study program was taught in Canada for the first time in this school. The course is of 24-months. The MOT or Management of Technology MBA is an intensive business training-based program formulated specifically for those who:

  • Want to innovate in their business
  • Strategically implement digital technologies
  • Want to be up-to-date in the dynamic landscape of business

International students who are currently working in Canada on a work permit are eligible to apply.

Requirements:

The students need to fulfill the following requirements to be eligible:

  1. Executive MBA

The EMBA or Executive MBA program is aimed at professionals who are working. The classes are conducted in Vancouver, Canada, on a part-time basis.

International students who are currently working in Canada on a work permit are eligible to apply.

Requirements:

  • Academics

An undergraduate degree in any subject is required. A diploma degree of a two-year duration with excellent grades can also be considered. If applicants do not have a formal degree or a job designation but have other notable qualifications are also considered eligible.

  • Work Experience

The applicants are required to have at least ten years of work experience professionally and four years of experience in management. The average work experience for the EMBA students in Beedie is 21 years, with more than 10 years of management experience.

  • Language Proficiency

Other costs

The fees for health insurance, athletic/ recreational facility pass, and transit pass are approximately 2,750 CAD.

The students who opt for the optional Americas EMBA for Executives study program in the second year are reimbursed the additional costs of accommodation, food, and traveling when visiting the partnering schools. The amount is around 8000 CAD.

  1. Executive MBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership

The EMBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership at Beedie, SFU, is offered under the EMBA study program. It is the only MBA program in North America accredited that addresses business, entrepreneurship, and economic development of Indigenous people.

It has been designed especially for mid-career professionals from indigenous sections in Canada. The applicants are established leaders who have an interest in the economic development, business management, self-determination, and nation-building for the indigenous people.

The program includes the knowledge and core concepts of most MBA programs. It also recognizes and respects the history, traditional knowledge, and cultural protocols of the indigenous people. It plays an essential role while making decisions in Indigenous communities. The students have to travel to Vancouver and attend intensive sessions for one to two weeks. The session done for a period of 5 terms facilitates them to continue working.

Requirements:

The requirements that need to be fulfilled for this study program are given below:

  • An undergraduate degree in any subject
  • A technology diploma of two years or excellent grades will be taken into consideration
  • Work Experience – At least ten years. Four years should have been spent in a managerial position
  • Substantial work experience for applicants who have no formal degree
  • Fluency in English

The tuition fee for this EMBA program is 59,525 CAD. It will cost an additional 2,000 – 4,000 CAD  for study tours.

Funding

You can be sponsored by your home country or other Indigenous Organizations.

The SFU receives and produces invoices if you receive partial or complete financial support to pursue EMBA in Indigenous Business and Leadership from the indigenous community or your native country.
