top 5 tips to turn your passion into an Overseas Career

A TV Production Assistant turned Florist Kate Bellamy offers top 5 tips on how to turn your passion into an Overseas Career:

Tip # 1 - Get experience:

Ensure that you get good experience in your selected area prior to quitting your day job. Kate says that one of her first ever jobs was on a flower stall. I learned the basics on the stall such as from pricing up a bouquet to buying flowers. I also learned practical skills like flower arranging and conditioning plants, she adds.

Tip # 2 – Question yourself as to what makes you happy?

You may be struggling to find satisfaction in your current job. First, try to recognize if it is just a blip or you are truly unhappy. In the meantime, focus on your interests in the free time. This can be watching videos online or taking a class in something that you are passionate about.

Tip # 3 –Ensure it is more than merely a hobby:

It is important to know the difference if your passion is something you are naturally good at to succeed or it is merely a hobby. Kate said that when she worked on TV, she would go out and buy flowers weekly. But I felt that was not satisfying and I needed more, she added.

Tip # 4 – Do not let you get in the way:

It is easy to give reasons as to why we cannot do certain things. However, in the majority of the situations, what stops us are only we ourselves. Kate says that it is seldom other people stopping us from taking leaps of faith. It is more likely the doubt in our own heads that stops us. She adds.

Tip # 5 - Take the leap:

When you get the chance, do not look back and just take it. If you enjoy what you do and are also getting positive feedback, that is always going to be a more fulfilling way of spending your time.

Kate says that she liked working on TV but she loved to work in floristry, as quoted by the Elle.
